Construction progress courtesy of Four Seasons Private Residences Telluride.
For buyers watching one of the most significant new luxury residential developments in Mountain Village, the Four Seasons Private Residences Telluride project is moving from plans and renderings into a much more tangible phase of construction.
According to the project's September 2026 developer construction updates, active work includes hotel foundation piers and concrete work, underground mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure, shoring, excavation and significant rock removal. The developer's September 17 construction email also reported progress on vertical structural elements, the first operational tower crane and preparation of future amenity areas. For the latest public construction information, see the developer's Construction Updates page. Four Seasons Telluride Construction Updates
For prospective owners, that progress matters. New construction becomes considerably easier to understand when you can begin to see how the buildings, infrastructure and amenities are actually taking shape on the site.
And in a market like Telluride, where truly new luxury residential inventory is relatively uncommon, following a development from the ground up is particularly useful for buyers deciding whether a branded residence belongs in their long-term real estate strategy.
Mountain Rose Realty is not affiliated with the developer. I represent buyers purchasing here and throughout the valley.
A major focus of the current work is the Hotel building.
The September developer updates report drilled piers and concrete foundation work along with underground mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure within the Hotel footprint. Excavation, shoring and rock removal also continue across the larger site. Bitly
In its September 17 email update, the developer reported that foundation walls, elevator cores and stair cores were progressing and that the project's first tower crane had been erected and was operational.
The developer also reported that Hotel foundation work remained on schedule for vertical slab pours to begin in Q4 2026.
That date is a developer projection as of September 2026 and, as with any major construction project, schedules can change.
Still, it is a meaningful milestone because it represents the transition toward a more visibly vertical stage of construction, when buyers can increasingly relate architectural plans and renderings to the actual scale of the development.
The developer's September 17 update also reported work around the future pool, spa and thermal lounger areas, including preparation for underground slabs and vault walls.
Construction is progressing separately across the Private Residences, where shoring and excavation are advancing toward foundation elevations.
Crews continue working through the site's bedrock, with mass excavation underway for the residential foundations.
For anyone considering buying at Four Seasons Private Residences Telluride, this is where a construction update becomes more meaningful than simply watching heavy equipment move around Mountain Village.
Each completed infrastructure and foundation stage makes it easier to evaluate the residential component in relation to its surroundings, views, access and the larger resort environment.
When I work with buyers evaluating new construction, I encourage them to look beyond the obvious question:
When will it be finished?
The more useful questions are often:
Where is the residence positioned within the overall development?
How do its orientation and view corridors compare with other available residences?
What does the floor plan feel like relative to how you will actually use the property?
Which amenities matter to you, and which simply sound impressive in a brochure?
What services are included with ownership, and what are the ongoing costs?
How does this opportunity compare with existing Telluride luxury homes and other Mountain Village real estate already available?
Is your priority personal use, long-term ownership, a legacy property, rental potential or some combination of those?
Those questions become even more important in a branded residential development because you are purchasing more than square footage.
You are also evaluating the service model, amenities, ownership structure, location and overall experience that accompanies the residence.
That makes thoughtful buyer representation particularly important.
Per the developer, as of September 2026, Four Seasons Private Residences Telluride offers one- to five-bedroom residences priced from $4 million.
Pricing, availability and specific residence offerings can change during the development and sales process, so current information should always be confirmed before making a purchase decision.
That range also represents several very different buyer profiles.
A smaller residence may appeal to someone who wants a highly serviced Telluride base without maintaining a larger standalone mountain home. Larger residences can compete more directly with substantial luxury condominiums, ski properties and single-family homes elsewhere in Mountain Village and Telluride.
This is where I think buyers benefit from stepping away from the Four Seasons name for a moment and making an apples-to-apples real estate comparison.
At a similar investment level, what else is available?
You may want to compare a Four Seasons residence with an existing ski-in/ski-out condominium, a larger luxury condo, a private Mountain Village home, an in-town Telluride residence, a recently renovated property, or a home offering more privacy, land, storage or garage space.
For some buyers, the convenience, hospitality and service component of Four Seasons will be exactly the point.
For another buyer, the same investment may buy a private home or established luxury residence that better suits how they intend to use Telluride.
There is no universally better choice.
The better question is:
How do I want to live when I'm here?
Once we answer that, comparing properties becomes considerably more useful.
The arrival of a Four Seasons-branded hotel and residential development adds another ownership model to the broader Telluride real estate market.
Buyers seeking property in Telluride or Mountain Village have traditionally compared existing condominiums, townhomes, ski-access residences and private single-family homes. Four Seasons adds newly constructed branded residences tied to a full-service luxury hospitality environment.
That distinction can be especially meaningful for second-home owners who place a high value on convenience.
Some owners want their Telluride home to feel completely private and independent.
Others want to arrive, ski, dine, entertain and leave with much of the property-management burden handled within a service-oriented environment.
Neither model is inherently better.
They are simply very different ways of owning a home in Telluride, and understanding which one fits you is often more important than choosing between two floor plans.
Major new developments are worth watching even if you have no immediate intention of purchasing within them.
For existing Mountain Village homeowners, Four Seasons introduces new luxury inventory and another ownership model into the marketplace. Properties within overlapping price ranges may increasingly be compared with the new residences as buyers evaluate their options.
For buyers, it expands the choices available when comparing Telluride second homes, full-service condominiums and traditional private residences.
It also reinforces one of the most important things to understand about this market:
Two properties at the same price can deliver completely different ownership experiences.
The right decision depends on considerably more than price per square foot.
For anyone seriously considering Four Seasons Private Residences Telluride, I would want to review the complete ownership picture before making a decision.
That means current availability and pricing, residence location, floor plan, view orientation, expected ownership expenses, governing documents, use restrictions, property-management structure, parking and storage, amenity access, construction and closing timelines, and any applicable rental provisions.
Those details may evolve as development and sales progress, so I would always work from the current project documents rather than assuming information from an earlier sales release remains unchanged.
A good next step is our Mountain Rose Realty Four Seasons Buyer's Guide, which brings the project information, floor plans, site plan and buyer considerations together in one place. Mountain Rose Realty Four Seasons Buyer's Guide
From there, I would take it one step further and compare the residence you are considering against competing properties in Mountain Village and Telluride.
A developer's sales team knows its project extremely well.
A buyer's advisor has a different job: helping you decide whether that project is actually the best use of your real estate investment.
I've spent over two decades working with buyers and sellers throughout Telluride, Mountain Village and the San Juan Mountains, and one thing is remarkably consistent: the homes people ultimately love most tend to match the way they actually spend their time here.
For some buyers, that means space, privacy and a garage full of skis and bikes.
For others, luxury means arriving with very little to manage and having services and amenities close at hand.
Four Seasons clearly speaks to the latter.
As a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS), a member of REALM Global, and a Telluride-area broker with over two decades of experience, my role is not simply to show you what is available. It is to help you understand how the choices compare, what you are actually buying and which ownership model makes sense for the way you want to experience Telluride.
Yes. As of September 2026, the developer reports active work across the Hotel and Private Residences, including foundation work, excavation, shoring and underground infrastructure. The developer's September 17 update stated that Hotel vertical slab pours were scheduled to begin in Q4 2026. Construction schedules can change, so buyers should consult the developer's current updates before relying on a specific milestone.
Per the developer, as of September 2026, one- to five-bedroom residences are priced from $4 million. Availability and individual residence pricing can change, so current inventory and pricing should be confirmed at the time a buyer is evaluating a purchase.
Independent buyer representation can be particularly useful when the question is not simply Which Four Seasons residence should I buy? but Should I buy at Four Seasons at all?
A buyer's advisor can help compare the development with the wider Mountain Village and Telluride market, including existing homes and condominiums at similar investment levels, while also helping you evaluate ownership costs, documents, restrictions, location, views, services and long-term fit.
Whether Four Seasons turns out to be the right fit or simply one property you want to compare against the rest of the market, understanding the ownership experience is where I would start.
Telluride offers many very different ways to own here, from fully serviced branded residences to private mountain homes. My job is to help you understand what you are gaining, what you may be giving up and which one actually fits you.
