Mountainfilm 2025 announcement archive. This May 20, 2025 post previewed the May 22–26 festival in Telluride and named Sophia Bush as guest director. Pass promotions and program details belonged to that festival edition.

The original preview described Mountainfilm’s documentary focus and its roots in 1979. Its subjects included the environment, culture, community and courage, with filmmakers, athletes, activists, artists and other speakers contributing to the gathering.
The 2025 program highlights listed independent documentaries, a speaker series, art and photography exhibits, early-morning coffee talks, outdoor programs and student showcases. Community activities included an ice-cream social, book signings and a picnic, alongside panels with athletes, academics, artists and activists.

The announcement situated Mountainfilm on the traditional, ancestral and unceded homelands of the Nuchu (Ute) and Pueblo people. It described commitments to adventure, environmental preservation, diverse voices, cultural connection, courage and activism.
Those themes give visitors one way to explore Telluride’s cultural life. A festival weekend is also only one view of the community: anyone considering a home should separately examine everyday access, seasonal conditions, ownership costs and the location’s fit with their needs.
