Originally published November 5, 2025, this off-season guide collects activity ideas from the Telluride Tourism Board’s Fall Off-Season Adventures sheet. Use it as a starting list, then check the weather, route rules, hours and reservations for the day you plan to go.
Bear Creek Falls, Bridal Veil, Deep Creek and Jud Wiebe were the original hiking suggestions. Their inclusion does not mean they are suitable every November day. Snow, ice, daylight and changing access can alter a plan. Choose a route that fits actual conditions and your experience, carry appropriate layers and traction, and turn back when conditions exceed your plan; equipment alone does not make a winter route safe.

The Town Bike Path and Valley Floor were listed for biking, with Mountain Village and the Valley Floor suggested for fat biking when snow arrives. Confirm where the intended activity is permitted and whether trails are open or groomed before riding.

The fishing suggestions were the San Miguel River and Miramonte Reservoir, with Telluride Outside listed as a guide contact at 970-728-3895. Conditions, access and applicable licenses or regulations need checking for the water and date; this guide does not promise active trout or a successful outing.
Ouray Hot Springs and Orvis Hot Springs were the original soaking suggestions. Plan them as drives outside Telluride, with route and weather checks, rather than assuming a short trip. Consult each facility for hours, reservations and admission rules, especially before planning an evening visit.
Ah Haa School for the Arts was listed for art and culinary classes, and Wilkinson Public Library for community programs and indoor time. Check the actual calendar before heading over; a general activity list does not establish that a class is running that day.

The original low-key family ideas were Town Park, a self-guided historic walking tour and a scavenger hunt. Adapt each to the weather, access and your group’s needs.
It also named Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Mesa Verde, Moab, Ouray and Ridgway as places to explore beyond Telluride. These have different drive times and seasonal access considerations. Check the round trip, daylight, road conditions, park alerts and any reservations before deciding whether a destination fits a day outing.

Pack layers, a waterproof shell and suitable footwear; check opening hours the morning of an outing. If you are considering a home, use a visit to try the routes between a prospective property, services and the activities you value. Visit in other seasons too, because one quiet week does not establish year-round access or conditions.
For questions about a home search or sale, contact Anne-Britt Ostlund at Mountain Rose Realty. Event information is useful for planning a visit; property decisions also need current comparables and the details of the particular home.
