Telluride Lodging & Air Updates: What to Expect (Jan 30 - Feb 5)

Planning a trip to Telluride? Whether you're looking for the best places to stay or keeping an eye on flight trends, staying informed about Telluride lodging and air travel updates can help you make the most of your visit. Here's what you need to know for the week of January 30 – February 5.

LODGING UPDATE

Total destination occupancy from January 30 – February 13 is 8% lower YOY at 57% compared to 63% in 2024. Average Daily Rate (ADR) is up 9% at $793. Pace starts picking up in mid-February, with Presidents’ Day week tracking 5% ahead in both total and paid occupancy. Average total occupancy is currently 67% for the week, with a peak of 73% on Friday, February 21. 
 
Q1 continues to lag slightly YOY, with total occupancy currently 4% lower due to a slower January that is down 8% YOY, February pacing 4% behind, and March flat. With ADR pacing 6% ahead in Q1, Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) is flat for the quarter. 
 
Q1 metrics present an opportunity for lodgers to offer specials or booking incentives to move the needle in a positive direction. Many thanks to our lodging partners who are offering specials on Telluride.com, the call to action for all destination marketing efforts.

AIR UPDATE

With solid recent bookings, overall winter numbers are running even to just up over last year. December finished up 3% for the month, while January and February continue to pace down, but with a narrower gap now of a few points. March bookings are up 8% YOY as it continues its strong early showing. Traffic from now to Presidents' Day runs fairly even week-to-week.

Air Travel Update: Winter Flights to Telluride

Air travel to Telluride and Montrose Regional Airports continues to hold steady with some key shifts:

  1. December bookings finished up 3% YOY.
  2. January and February are pacing slightly down, but the gap is narrowing as demand picks up.
  3. March bookings are up 8% YOY, indicating a strong early season for spring travelers.
  4. Traffic from now through Presidents' Day is running steady week-to-week.
