This is the February 23–29, 2024 lodging and air archive, published February 24, 2024 and credited to the Telluride Tourism Board. Its forward-looking language described bookings then on the books, not today’s travel conditions or completed 2024 results.
Total destination occupancy for the following two weeks was reported at 59%, 15% behind the comparable 2023 period. ADR was $843, 4% ahead year over year.
The remaining six weeks of the ski season were pacing 2% behind 2023 in total occupancy. The update described decreases during the next four weeks, followed by a pickup in the final two weeks associated with an earlier Easter holiday and the resort’s planned operation into the first week of April.
The first two weeks of March were expected to be the busiest spring-break period, with average occupancy of 61%, 12% below the same two weeks in 2023. These were booking forecasts; the archived resort and holiday references are not current operating guidance.
The update described steady spring bookings resembling pre-pandemic patterns rather than large weekly spikes. Winter overall was estimated at 5–6% below the previous year, with late February softer and March stronger within that lower overall pace. Late-February and spring-break weeks were just behind, while the end of the season was ahead around the early Easter holiday.
At publication, summer schedules included earlier daily Houston and Chicago service and Southwest routes from Dallas Love Field and Denver. Additional changes were expected over the following months. Those 2024 route announcements do not establish today’s service.
The report’s subject is visitor lodging and air bookings. It does not demonstrate that property prices were stable or that February 2024 was an unusually favorable time to invest. A purchase decision needs comparable sales, ownership costs, applicable rental restrictions and property-specific due diligence.
