What’s Happening in Telluride This Week: Mushroom Festival, Live Music, Outdoor Movies, Wine Tastings & More

Mid-August in Telluride has a personality all its own: afternoon rain rolling across the peaks, mushrooms popping up across the forest floor, live music drifting through town and a calendar packed with events from morning into evening.

The Telluride Mushroom Festival headlines the week of August 13–19, joined by outdoor concerts, community performances, wine tastings, film screenings, historic walking tours and a handful of only-in-Telluride gatherings.

It's time to get fungi! Mushroom Festival kicked off today and the rain is following in the forecast this week. We hope everyone has a spore-tastic time - don't forget your raincoat!

In the music world, enjoy live music Thursday through Sunday at Alloy Kitchen (plus Sunday Rehab to end the weekend), a Community Concert with Telluride Chamber Music on Thursday at the Telluride Science & Innovation Center and the Telluride Gold Kings at the Sheridan Historic Bar on Thursday. Outdoor music this week includes Ben Musser & Walker Young for Music on the Green on Friday, Music at the Telluride Farmers' Market on Friday with Travis Fisher, and the last Sunset Concert Series of the summer with Easy Jim next Wednesday. 

Notable film events include a showing of "Superman" for the last Movies Under the Stars of the summer, a showing of "Hadestown" on Monday for Village Film Nights plus a film screening of "Best Day Ever" next Wednesday at the Telluride Conference Center.

If beverages are more your vibe, Weird Wine Wednesday takes over The National on (you guessed it) Wednesday, and the Mountain Village Wine Merchant hosts free tastings on Wednesdays and their Telluride counterpart does on Thursdays. Plus, you can enjoy Wine and Wickets at Alloy Kitchen on Wednesdays!

Other noteworthy events include TAB's new summer fundraiser at a private home in Aldasoro this Saturday (tickets are still available), Mind Blown at the Peaks Resort & Spa on Friday and Saturday, Patagonia Coffee Club on Saturday, and Historic Walking Tours on Tuesday and Thursday.
