We can't believe it's already August and another week of sunshine and wildflowers has come and gone in the mountains! We can't wait to see what this month brings - hopefully lots of music, mushrooms and rainbows.
The music is back in Town Park this week as Jazz Festival takes over the main stage. Get more information about this year's schedule below! In addition to Jazz Fest, you can enjoy tunes at Alloy Kitchen Thursday through Sunday plus Sunday Rehab at the pool, as well as The Gold Kings on Thursday at the Sheridan Historic Bar, Music on the Green with Logan Metz on Friday, Music on the Mesa with The Burroughs on Saturday at the San Miguel County Fairgrounds, and the Sunset Concert Series with the Drew Emmitt Band next Wednesday in Sunset Plaza.
It's a big week in the art world, too. Mushroom Festival (more information below) kicks off next week, and the August Art Walk will be held at galleries around Telluride and Mountain Village on Thursday alongside a Rooftop Pop-Up Artist Market at the Ah Haa School for the Arts. Plus, at Fringe Gallery, swing by to check out the Sandra Frias Trunk Show through Sunday and a new exhibit by Susan Dory (exhibit opening during the Art Walk) for the month of August.
Village Film Nights is back on Monday with "Minions and Monsters" at the Telluride Conference Center, and there are only two Movies Under the Stars left for the season - this Saturday is "Hoppers".
Wine lovers have their pick of events this week, including a Meet and Greet Wine Tasting with Lettuce at Communion on Thursday, a free wine tasting at the Mountain Village Wine Merchant on Wednesday (Telluride location on Thursdays), plus Wine and Wickets at Alloy Kitchen and Weird Wine Wednesday at The National on Wednesday.
Other must-attend events this week include the KOTO Duck Race on Friday on the San Miguel River (purchase your duck before they're gone), Historic Walking Tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Mind Blown at The Peaks Resort & Spa on Friday and Saturday, Town Talks at the Telluride Conference Center on Tuesday, and the local farmers markets (Friday in Telluride and Wednesday in Mountain Village).
