Archive notice: This post describes a 2025 Seas of Trees Vertical Downhill Ski Challenge announcement. The deadline, fees, prizes, donation terms, registration status, and reforestation outcomes are not current or independently verified by this archive.

The original RunSignup event page described a challenge in which participants could ski or snowboard at a mountain of their choice, track vertical mileage with an app such as Garmin or SLOPES, and take part in seasonal competitions.
According to the original notice, the minimum donation was $25, which it said would help plant five trees at global reforestation sites. The stated registration amount was $27.50 including a $2.50 processing fee, and registration was scheduled to close May 15, 2025 at 10:00 PM MDT. The notice also described tree-planting goals, participant competitions, photo contests, mini-challenges, scavenger hunts, and prizes. Those were announced terms, not verified current program commitments or results.
The event notice said participants could take part from any ski destination. It described up to 500 trees in the Telluride National Forest. It also announced prizes for the top three skiers and teams, the oldest and youngest skiers, photo contests, mini-challenges, and scavenger hunts, including cash, Patagonia gear, River hats, and trees for a participant’s property. This archive does not establish whether the event occurred, which prizes were awarded, or whether any particular planting outcome followed.
